  • Overview

    The Category Support Coordinator is responsible for the coordinating data elements for products in the assortment. Typical activities include new item introduction, item expansion, test items, pre-books, promotional/bill-back activities and communication/coordination with vendor contacts. Coordinate and execute product information exchanges between 7-Eleven master systems and vendors in a high volume, low error tolerance environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate new product setup information with vendors (e.g. product descriptions, UPC, cost, case quantity, LDU, FOD, etc.).  
    • Strong attention to detail for nuances related to vendor type (CDC, Wholesale, DSD) and internal strategic initiatives (BT, CMR, test products, etc.).
    • Coordinate product introduction, information, and communication to stores.
    • Accurately interpret and capture vendor funding components from Cost Support Agreements.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong knowledge of family items, financial impact of promotional activities, and nuances of key strategic initiatives (BT, CMR, etc.).
    • Develop and execute expertise in proprietary 7-Eleven cost support system and promotional funding types that can be supported (RDAs, Quantity Discounts, Bill-backs, Scan-backs, Off Invoice Allowances, etc.).
    • Develop and execute expertise in proprietary 7-Eleven Promo Master and promotion types that can be supported (2/$X, discounts on product combinations, coupons, etc.) and detailed product data required to facilitate successful rings at the store.
    • Coordinate monthly Marketing/POP efforts.
    • Extracts product information from 7-Eleven systems using SQL, Access, and SEI proprietary systems.
    • Synchronizes product information between vendor communications and 7-Eleven system extracts using advanced level excel skills.
    • Reviews product information for completeness and accuracy, identify and escalate issues.
    • Completes and submits product information change request forms for management approval and data processing.
    • Analyzes product information changes and reports on activities completed.
    • Reviews product information in 7-Eleven systems for inconsistencies.
    • Researches issues to identify root cause and recommended resolution.
    • Executes cross-functional tasks based on priority and volume of workload.
    • Communicates and escalates issues to the Supervisor as appropriate.
    • Coordinates communications with vendors regarding product information change  (e.g. UPCs, product cost, delivery configurations, etc.).  
    • Drives the requirement for consistency of process and format in all communications with vendors.
    • Coordinate pre-book activities, product tests, and product replacements.
    • Monitor product inventory with 7-Eleven partners (e.g. McLane, FES, Excel, Mitsui, and CDC / Commissaries).

     

    Qualifications

    • Education: High School + Equiv Exp or Bach/4 Yr Degree.
    • Experience: 2, Advanced Excel skills.
    • Position requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Advanced working knowledge of Excel (must be able to efficiently and effectively execute VLOOKUPs, IF Statements, and Pivot Tables).
    • Effectively operates in a high volume environment while achieving minimal error rates.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Thorough understanding of retail/inventory attributes is preferred.
